Bid Automation and Management
Recently, I spent a great deal of time looking for good bid automation software. We have used many programs in the past including Yahoo!'s product "search optimizer" and 3rd party software such as BidRank.
It seems to me that a lot of these companies are missing the boat when it comes to providing a full agency/firm solution.
Most of the newer automation packages include software for Google Adwords (Now that their API has been out for several months), however none of them offer a robust system for reporting…a typical requirement for any good-sized company. In addition, most of these automated software programs are capped to a keyword limit or charged on a monthly basis by total "actions" which is easily surpassed when you are managing multiple clients.
We ultimately decided on a package offered by Dynamic Software, which offers the ability to customize a package for you. The user interface is really a "no frills" approach, however the program seems to do a good job gathering data through the various channels. Beware that technical support is generally slow to respond to questions, so if you're interested in the program I suggest that you review their free trial thoroughly.
