Integrated Marketing Communications- Get A Plan!
Okay, so you've got a killer web site! Maybe you've even running a pay-per-click ad campaign on Google or Yahoo! and getting good results.
So what else should you do? Are you thinking strategically? Go back to the drawing board and review your business plan. What are your main business objectives, and how do you plan to grow your business?
Heads up. Take a few minutes to think about developing an integrated marketing communications (Define) plan specifically for your web site. You can draw from traditional marketing communications. And today there are new methods to employ traditional marcomm activities on the Internet. Besides getting clicks and conversions, most businesses need brand awareness and brand credibility. You need connections in your industry and should establish your position in the marketplace.
Maybe you are the "guru" in your field. Public Relations on the Internet is a reality. (PRWeb) You can improve brand recognition via press releases, feature articles and podcasts. Most trade publications have an on line version and these are great resources for most any business. Sharpen your focus on your audience with listings in relevant directories and link up where it makes sense.
You might consider setting up a blog and going interactive. Think about what you can offer to your readers, and then be prepared to learn and grow with the responses you receive. Timing is key. If you develop a marcom plan and deploy your tactics in time for a new product introduction (for example), your odds go up for improved results.
Consider your business objectives and develop a well-rounded communications plan for your site, and you?ll discover that all of these tactics work together and play off each other to enrich your company?s messages and boost sales. I just love it when a good plan comes together!
