It's Just Business, Unfiltered.

Well, its been almost a month since my last post. Nothing like a nice break to get the creative thoughts flowing. The truth is however, that I have been too busy with our two other directories to get my daily blogging in. BTW- for a laugh, you should check out Mike Sansone’s commentary between him and his blog about not finding enough time to blog.

We’re happy to announce that we have released several new enhancements to our Business Blog Directory that we believe is the beginning of truly a useful business resource. Here are just a couple of exiting things we’ve been working on:

1. RSS Spider- all blog owners that have submitted a RSS feed, now have their feed crawled daily. This was a major breakthough given that this changes the whole scope of directory. Now users may have three search options: a. the directory, b. all blog posts within our rolling database, c. all posts within the last two weeks. So in effect, we are now a search engine with a little human intervention to keep it as spam free as possible. Check it out when you have a chance.
2. Easy subscription- In addition to the above item, we allow people to easily subscribe to blogs by means of a subscription page (no more raw feed or inconsistent standards). Here is an example of one: http://www.iblogbusiness.com/cgi-bin/link-sql/rss.pl?ID=1 We thought that no-one really offers this feature in the blogosphere landscape. Plus, there are a lot of inconsistencies to what people are using for their syndication feed of choice. Now, regardless of what feed is submitted, we’ll turn it around and give users some easy subscription options.
3. New tagline- yeah that’s right! And we couldn’t think of a better time to change our “Business Blog Directory” message than now. The new positioning statement I believe encompasses our long term vision that can stand the test of time:

“It’s Just Business, Unfiltered.”

If all the above wasn’t enough, we’re really close to launching a complete redesign that was inspired by all the new enhancements which should be active in about a week. So even though its not the best excuse for not blogging, we’ve been busy in the kitchen:)
